trends from high point | burl wood

Last week was High Point Market.  A time to see all that is new in home decor...so I thought I would dedicate this week to the top trends I found at High Point.  The common thing I heard over and over was that the recession is over (woohoo!) and you can so tell with the way the trends are headed.  You saw less and less painted furniture that looked like it was removed from a barn...or I loved when Meredith Heron said she was so glad to not see things she thought may give her tetanus when she sat on them!  Trends are going more and more towards quality and luxury.

Trends in wood....

Out: Chalk painted & distressed....hallelujah!

In: Burl & Rich wood tones (seriously...my all time favorite)

I have done a post on burl before...but its so pretty I don't think you'll mind seeing more!

When shopping for burl pieces when it comes to vintage Milo Baughman & Thayer Coggin are my favs, and for current designs Jonathan Adler has some great pieces.
