an indian wedding & new site

While weddings are not something I usually talk about here I have been to a few in the past year that I have known I wanted to share!  Today is of one of my best friends, that I was in last November in Miami.  To say I was excited about this wedding before she even met her handsome groom, Varun, was an understatement... for as long as I can remember our group of friends has talked about how we couldn't wait for Krupa to get married so that we could experience a true Indian wedding.  No detail was left unplanned and I loved not only getting to experience it but to also be a part of it!

Yes... he came in on a white horse!!! (surrounded by the most fun dance party!)

The venue, the Deering Estate, was stunning.

*my photo while they were setting up...just so you can see the view!

Indian ceremonies are much longer than the traditional weddings we are use to.  During the ceremony waiters came around with snacks and glass bottled cokes.  (How many of you wish this was done at every wedding?!)

For the reception the groom changed from traditional Indian attire to a tux!

And just before they left...Taco Bell (the bride's fav) was delivered!

Now for an even more exciting thing!  While they were planning their wedding they realized that even though they were using a popular venue it was hard to find photos for inspiration of how others outfitted the venue for ideas.  So they have created an event planning site to help make the process a lot easier....SightToSee, and it launches TODAY!  Think like Houzz but for events.  Please go check it out and spread the word to any vendors that may wish to have their work included!

And not just for weddings but anything from baby showers to bar mitzvahs!

  1. How cool that they launched a site! Your friend's wedding was absolutely gorgeous. Everything looks picture perfect, and she looks like she could be a model. What a beautiful day, and wishing your friend and her husband much happiness!
