oversized topiaries

This stretch of warm weather has me ready to get outside and do some gardening...and by gardening I mean planting a few things in pots!  Last year I attempted to do oversized topiaries and failed.  I was super excited as I purchased two gardenia "trees" only for them to last maybe 2 months.  Turns out gardenias are one of the most temperamental plants.  So not a match for my far from green thumb!  I do still love the look of topiaries...they look so estate like and are the finishing touch that can make an exterior look clean and pulled together.  I think I'm going to give them a try again this year...just not gardenias!  While shopping around I have noticed the key to finding the ones that look like you have had for several years is to go to local garden centers or nurseries.  With that also can come a hefty price tag!  Here are some inspiration photos I have found.

Another option is to use boxwood bushes with oversized planters?!

  1. I'm obsessed with big topiaries! I would be scared to try though bc I have a total black thumb!
