thanksgiving cocktail: apple cinnamon sangria

Because you may need a last minute cocktail idea for tomorrow...this is sure to help you get through family time...or make it more fun?!  This is like apple juice for grown ups and it looks so pretty for fall!

3 apples...I like to use different ones for color...cut into matchsticks
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1 cup Cabernet Sauvignon (if you're a white wine drinker use Pinot Grigio)
3 cups apple cider
4 whole cinnamon sticks
1/2 tbsp whole cloves
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
2 cups champagne

Mix all ingredients in a pitcher except the champagne...cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (up to 24)
Add champagne right before serving!

Voila! Happy Thanksgiving!
