oscars sunday: behind the scenes in the green room

I normally don't post on Sundays but wanted to share some behind the scenes photos of this years Oscar's Green Room.  For the past several years Architectural Digest has paired up with designers to create the Green Room.  This year's designer, Madeline Stuart, wanted to incorporate an old Hollywood feel from the 30s.  She also is the daughter of Mel Stuart, director of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, so I would say she has an insider approach of how to set the mood for the evening.

This quote by Stuart really sums up the space:
"My goal was to create a space where contemporary stars wouldn't be surprised to bump into Cary Grant or Katharine Hepburn."

A giant golden Oscar statue welcomes actors as they enter the Green Room.

Old Oscar moments play on a set of tv's along one wall.

The garden room actually makes you feel like your outside.
